The FP164 stereo removal tools are made to pull DEA3xx, DEA5xx, DEA6xx, and DEA7xx head units from semis and other heavy equipment. They also fit the factory single-DIN stereo in many Ford cars and trucks.
Those radios sit in a metal dash cage. Just behind the round hole in each corner is a spring clip that locks the unit in place. These tools push those clips aside so the stereo can slide out without prying on the dash.
To remove a factory or aftermarket Delphi or Aptiv stereo, put one tool in the holes on each side of the radio. You will feel the tool pass the spring clips. When both tools are fully in, the notched tips catch on the chassis and act as handles. Pull the tools straight out from the dash and the stereo comes with them.
